Before a patient is diagnosed that they need specialized care, they first come to a physician and it is here they are likely to get referred to further tests and treatment.

Some physicians set up private practice while others become a part of a physicians' group. Some are employed by hospitals. Some of them practice in other institutions like schools and colleges. The salary depends on what and where they are practicing. In whatever set up a physician is working, the average salary could be from $120,000 to $1,840,000 per annum.
